PC Ravens Out, 4 In Finals Showdown

The men from Lae City registered three straight wins in the group stage, topping their pool, but couldn’t go past the Young Guns in the Cup quarterfinals at Bava Park, Port Moresby.

The Young Guns were included in the cup quarterfinals replacing the defending champions, Bialla Suaras, who were initially slated for the cup quarterfinals. Young Guns won three of its Group matches while Bialla Suaras, two from three. The Young Guns were given the nod due to points differential.

Suaras confident to retain Cup Title

Suaras captain Sam Voku said his side is prepared for the tournament and will give their all to defend the cup title.

“As the Suaras captain, I have no doubt that we will get the cup back because of our training and sacrifices at the training from 12 o’clock till afternoon. I have confident that we can still retain the cup,” Voku said.

However, Voku further said his younger brother and the current PNG Pukpuks winger Derrick Voki, Ben Kennedy and few others who played crucial roles in their side’s victory last year (2023) won’t be playing with the team.

Niu Power Sports Tok Sevens returns Easter Weekend

Founder of the Sports Tok Rugby Sevens Benson Upas, Tournament Coordinator Joe Kautu and sponsor Niu Power Limited are excited to bring the 2024 edition of the Sports Tok Rugby Sevens Tournament to the participating clubs and rugby fans.  

Tournament Coordinator Joe Kautu said the tournament will bring together 32 teams in the open men's division and 12 teams each in the women and junior divisions. Four teams will be drawn into each pool competing for a total of K85,000.
