Firefighter training underway

Training Superintendent Arifeae Farapo said the 42 recruits from NCD, commenced training on 23rd of May 2022 and the training is progressing well.  They will complete their training in a couple of weeks.

Two women are among the 42 recruits. The training is underway at the Gerehu Fire Service Training College.  

The main topics covered during the first four weeks were;

Fire Service to host training on new management system

The program will be delivered by the Queensland Fire & Rescue Service on June 7 in Port Moresby.

AIIMS is a management system that employs the relevant skill sets and resources of various agencies and expertise from different sectors, including business and industry, to control emergencies or manage events.

Phase one is awareness, which is designed to provide participants with a basic understanding of the principles and processes that underpin AIIMS and its adoption and use in emergency incident management.
