New Ireland Provincial Day 2016

The two-day event has been changed to only a day of celebrations: July 23. It will be hosted at the Constitutional Park in Port Moresby.

UPNG New Ireland Students Association (NISA) president, Martin Bomuna, told Loop PNG that the battle of the bands event, scheduled for July 22, has been moved to August 27.

“This will also give the bands enough time to practice,” Bomuna said.

He urged the New Ireland community in Port Moresby as well the residents to come along and enjoy the culture, food and hospitality of fellow wantoks.

New Ireland Students Association (NISA) president Martin Bomuna told Loop PNG that the two-day event (July 22 and 23) will be held at the Taurama Aquatic Centre in Port Moresby.

“Day one will host the battle of the bands and a traditional pageant while day two will be the official day where traditional dances will be showcased,” says Bomuna, who is a final year anthropology student.
