Choi challenges journalists

He said journalists have been taught not to have an opinion on what they report on and that they should focus on the truth and present that in an unbiased fashion.

“I think that with the times we’re in we must relook at that. During this time of gross misinformation on what our country should be and should not be doing, there is a large portion of people to rely on in the media to make informed decisions,” Mr Choi said.

Parties urged to resolve EMTV issue

Nou, who said he has spoken to the three parties separately, has offered to mediate and to reach an amicable resolution.

He expressed deep concern for the clients and viewers of EMTV’s flagship TV program, the nightly news bulletin, which did not go to air on Tuesday (August 20th) night – the first in over 30 years.

Acting Head of News and Current Affairs, Meriba Tulo, told TVWan news this morning that newsroom staff who went to work this morning were refused entry to their work stations.

He also dispelled rumours that newsroom staff were terminated.
