Draft bill for WaSH authority planned

A National Consultation Workshop on the Draft Bill to establish the Authority was held on July 30th to gauge views from stakeholders.

Minister for National Planning & Monitoring, Richard Maru, opened the workshop.

In his keynote address, Minister Maru said the country’s WaSH Policy had been in existence since 2015 but had not been implemented.

He said the most important and relevant decision on the agenda is the establishment of the NWSHA.

WaSH policy to be implemented in NCD schools

The WaSH school stakeholder induction workshop was conducted for the six pilot schools including Wardstrip, Ted Diro, St. John’s Tokarara and Hagara primary on February 22 at the Lamana Hotel.

It involved the participants to examine the images of the schools’ conditions of their toilet buildings, water usage and useful standards promoted in WaSH policy that should benefit individual students.

The teachers of the six schools managed to identify ways to improve their lavatory buildings that will meet the standards for the benefit of all students.
