NMAG Director, Dr Andrew Moutu, received the relic on October 11th

Representatives from the Japanese Embassy to Papua New Guinea were also present for the occasion.

The war relic was discovered on 2 September 2019 by a construction crew working on the Australian government funded ANGAU Hospital redevelopment in Lae, Morobe Province.

Museum hosts education program

It is an initiative of NMAG’s education and public programs department.

Director of NMAG, Dr Andrew Moutu, said the education program is in line with the aspirations of the Museum’s Corporate Plan recently launched to turn the Museum into an educational hub.

“Education is the cornerstone of the Museum, we have to be able to pass onto the next generation the knowledge that we create and store,” said Dr Moutu.
