Air NZ resumes flights to Nadi

Air NZ's first commercial flight to Fiji amid the Covid-19 pandemic arrived in Nadi last week.

Chris Chand, of Fiji Airports, said the flight from Auckland carried repatriated Fijians and tourists.

With New Zealand's borders closed to Fiji, customer loads have been understandably quite low, the airline said in a statement.

"We have been operating one return Nadi flight per week through the pandemic which has been mostly cargo into Nadi," he said.

Air Niugini resumes services to Honiara

The airline is resuming normal schedule starting tomorrow( Thursday 09th June) from Nadi to Honiara and Port Moresby.

The Port Moresby/Honiara / Nadi service resumes on Friday 10th June.

Air Niugini suspends its Honiara services since yesterday for a definite period following the withdrawal of services operated and supplied by Solomon Airlines.

PX flights to Honiara suspended

This follows the withdrawal of all services operated and supplied by Solomon Airlines effective June 7, 2016 until further notice.

Air Niugini’s flight PX082 from Port Moresby to Honiara and Port Vila on Tuesday has been rerouted to operate from Port Moresby to Port Vila direct.

Flights between Port Moresby and Nadi, Fiji will be nonstop and not via Honiara until further notice.

Air Niugini is waiving rebooking and cancellation fees for disrupted Honiara passengers.

Air Niugini to resume flights to Fiji

The decision to resume services was made after all risk assessments were carried out over the last two days and clearance given.

Air Niugini cancelled its service to Nadi on Saturday (Feb 20) due to Cyclone Winston which swept through the country over the weekend, causing millions of dollars worth of damage to properties and infrastructure, several deaths were recorded and thousands of people made homeless.

Flight PX 084 only operated to Honiara, Solomon Islands and back, the Honiara/Nadi sector was cancelled.
