Youth: Don’t measure your life to a certificate

This is the message of a young man, once considered a youth with no value in his community.

Jackson Kiap’s story of transformation begins with his friend Allan Mogerema.

Mogerema was a pioneer youth in PNG who took the challenge to try something different from the rest, by learning yoga.

This step opened the door to countless opportunities including travelling the world, and eventually lending a full time job as a yoga instructor, which apparently, is a demand.

Yoga Day: What’s different this year in POM

There’s a reason this year’s International Yoga Day celebration in PNG will stand out.

Since it’s commemoration in 2015, the celebrations this time will be organised and led by a Papua New Guinea team.

Yoga – an ancient Hindu discipline, accepted worldwide for its health benefits, was introduced into the country in 2012.

The easy-to-do workout very quickly became common within communities, attracting many youths.

This year, founder Fazilah Bazari says a committee has been formed to coordinate the event, led by Jackson Kiap – the lead Yoga teacher.
