27-year-old Sudanese refugee, Faysal Ishak Ahmed, died in a Brisbane hospital on Dec 24, 2016.
“The refugee had been transferred to PNG under the Regional Resettlement Arrangement with Australia in 2013, and had been residing at the Manus Regional Processing Centre,” Minister Rimbink Pato said in a statement.
Pato said Faysal fell at the processing centre after having a fit and was seriously injured.
He was immediately taken to the centre’s medial facility for urgent examination by international health and medical services staff.
