Digital transformation trip successful

In a media conference following his return he said the trip was necessary for PNG’s digital transformation agenda.

Masiu and his delegation met two key ministers in the India government - Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri Dr. Rajkumar and the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar.  

He said the India government has committed to increase the quota for ICT scholarship opportunities for Papua New Guineans, building a cyber-security hub and access to India’s satellite.

DICT approach on data management

Executive Manager for Digital Government and Shared Services at DICT, Robertson Asari, emphasized the need for a unified approach to data management in government agencies.

Asari addressed this at the 6th Annual Human Resource (HR) Managers Forum hosted by the Department of Personnel Management.

He added that technology is not the problem, but rather people and processes, and that the biggest issue currently is duplication of efforts due to silos.

DICT Cloud team conducts workshop in Brisbane

The Digital Government Division of PNG’s Department of Information and Communication Technology had their Government Cloud and Cloud DevOps teams travel for a technical workshop at the Amazon Web Servers Professional Services office at Brisbane, Australia.

Data Sharing Key To NID

Stakeholders who attended the workshop spoke highly of the NID project saying it plays an essential role in the country.

Data governance as mentioned in the public sector ensures secure data transfer and delivery across shared service platforms.

Executive Manager for Digital Government & Shared Services (DICT), Robertson Asari said that sharing data more effectively across governments and organizations is key to effective democracy.
