This was found by the Auditor General’s Office (AGO) after it was requested by the PNG Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee to seek the effectiveness of church run health services throughout the country.
The report of this performance audit was tabled in Parliament today
AGO says during its visit to church run facilities they were told not charging user fees at for their health service meant that they were not able to pay for things like battery, kerosene, fuel for the ambulance and for their auxiliary staff.
