Banking Plays Vital Role In Economy

‘‘Managing the disruption, Financial Impact and Economic Downturn’’ was the theme of the conference that saw 600 participants join the conference virtually with approximately 200 participants attending in person, ending today, on Friday 19th November, 2021.

During a two-day Certified Practicing Accounts (CPA) PNG & CPA Australia 25th Annual Conference based in PNG on 18 November, BSP Group Chief Operating Officer, Frank van der Poll said that while banks are part of the country’s transformation process, the sector is undergoing transformation as well.

School Receives Desks

BSP Alotau Branch has supported the school with a new multi-sport court, sporting equipment, 46 new double-seater desks and renovated its double classroom that houses two grade six (6) classes. The assistance is part of its 2021 Community Project initiative.

School Headmaster Eugene Awilo in expressing his gratitude towards BSP Alotau Branch said, “Goilanai Primary School is the only level seven (7) primary school in Milne Bay which is being prepared to be converted to a junior high school to cater for the 1-6-6 education structure.”

Hospital Receives Essential Equipment

The equipment supplied include two Portable Sonoscape Ultrasound machines, two Pulse oximeters, Disposable test kits and combo pads. 

PIH Biomedical Engineering team helped to procure the specialized emergency equipment and making sure that safe installation and tests were run during handover.

An emotionally grateful Dr Ware Vagoli, Gerehu General Hospital’s Head of Department thanked BSP Group Chief Operating Officer Frank van der Poll upon receiving the equipment.

Financial Literacy Program launched

The literacy program will benefit students of Ted Diro Primary School and St Joseph’s International College in Port Moresby.
