Sharks win Hebou Shield Women’s T20 Comp

The Sharks finished unbeaten at the Hebou Shield Women’s T20 Competition with a seven wicket win over the Diamonds in the grand final played this week.

Winning the toss the Diamonds batted first finishing at 7/109. Kaia Arua top scored with 29.

 In reply, the Sharks got off to a steady start with Nao Ani Vare (44) leading from the front at the top of the order before an unbeaten fourth wicket partnership off 21 runs between Sibona Jimmy (23*) and Konio Oala (12*) guided the Sharks to victory in the final over of the match with four balls to spare.

Mairi Tom (1/18), Pauke Siaka (1/20) and Isabel Kari (1/25) were the only wicket-takers for the Diamonds.

It was a clean sweep for the Sharks who also won the Hebou Shield Women’s 40 Over Competition.
