Sharks win Hebou Shield Women’s T20 Comp

Winning the toss the Diamonds batted first finishing at 7/109. Kaia Arua top scored with 29.

 In reply, the Sharks got off to a steady start with Nao Ani Vare (44) leading from the front at the top of the order before an unbeaten fourth wicket partnership off 21 runs between Sibona Jimmy (23*) and Konio Oala (12*) guided the Sharks to victory in the final over of the match with four balls to spare.

Mairi Tom (1/18), Pauke Siaka (1/20) and Isabel Kari (1/25) were the only wicket-takers for the Diamonds.

Day 16: Cheetahs and Sharks victors

It was an unbeaten 97 from Hebou PNG Barramundis captain, Assad Vala that gave the Cheetahs an unlikely two wicket win over the Titans in the men’s 50 over match.

In the women’s T20 fixture, the Sharks kept their unbeaten record intact with a 38 run victory over the Piranhas.

In the men’s 50 over match, after finishing at 9/337, Sema Kamea (3/19) and Mahuru Dai (3/22) destroyed the Titans batting attack to have them all bowled out for 101 inside 33 overs.

To the women’s T20 match, City Pharmacy PNG Lewas captain, Pauke Siaka guided the Diamonds home to reach the target of 136 with four wickets in hand and two balls to spare.
