NCDPHA meet to review performance

The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA) held its Annual Performance Review meeting in Port Moresby to address issues and find a way forward to better its work.

Directors, board members, and senior management gathered for the two-day meeting that will end tomorrow.

The meeting is to share experiences, ideas and struggles to work together to solve the issue and work towards future activities.

NCDPHA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Steven Yennie stated that the purpose of the meeting was to share experiences from all OICs, directors, and management from different PHA centres for the first time since its inception in 2020.

“The idea why government sends a performance review is basically to do a diagnosis of the organizations' performance, challenges, the gaps that we have in our facility so that we can better plan. We wanted to do the review today so this will also inform us of the development of the annual implementation of 2023,” said Dr. Yennie.

He stated that the Corporate Plan 2022-2026, will be implemented through the annual implementation plan.

Consultant, Pascoe Kase on behalf of the Minister for Health/HIV AIDS, Dr. Lino Tom and stated that the event was a way to see how operations are going as far as the COVID-19 pandemic is concerned.

“We are spending government money and we need to let the people know and the government on what we are doing with their money, especially the taxpayers.”
