K2m road project for EHP

Eastern Highlands Governor Peter Numu has been implementing his provincial government’s key development priority which is focused on roads and bridges.

Governor Numu recently conducted a ground breaking ceremony of a K2 million road project at Yauna village.

It runs from Basis village in Goroka district through Yauna, Omena, Orumbafoe villages in the Unggai LLG and ends at the border of Foe village in Chuave, Simbu Province.

The 18km road project will be constructed by Nokondi Investment Ltd and Prodigy Construction Ltd.

This road project will serve the 7,000-plus population after being neglected for almost 40 years.

This road project initiative has brought the light of development to their very doorstep.

Numu said once completed, villagers will be able to access the health centre, schools, markets and other services that will change their lives for the better.

Meantime, Eastern Highlands Provincial Police Commander, David Seine Jr, urged the people to respect the law during the construction period of the road.

He encouraged them to work cooperatively with the provincial government to see the good benefits and lifetime opportunities and do away with the attitude of compensation.
