Women expo set for tomorrow

A series of APEC/PPWE Regional women entrepreneur workshop and expo will run from mid-March through to April.

This program is focused on encouraging entrepreneurs to scale up and grow their business beyond their domestic markets to international markets within the 21 APEC Economies. 

It will be hosted by the Department for Community Development & Religion.  

The department is now extending the invitation to all women entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout the country.

Southern Region will be the first, which commences tomorrow, March 22-23 in Port Moresby, NCD.

Momase follows next, running from April 12 -13 in Lae, Morobe Province, and the highlands region from April 18 -19 in Mt Hagen, Western Highlands Province.

The deadline for submission of expression of interest are March 16 – 20 for Southern, March 16 – April 6 for Momase and March 16 – April 10 for the Highlands region.

Criteria for eligibility include:

  1. Be the founding or co-founding CEO or director of the business.
  2. Demonstrate that her business/company is ready to scale and grow
  3. The business/company must be in the service industry such as tourism and hospitality, design and tailoring, food services, human resource management etc or in the manufacturing industry such as production of herbal products, cash crop (small-medium production), furniture, jewelry, arts and crafts.
  4.  The entrepreneurs must be willing to bring some of their products for display or sell on the 14 July, 2018
  5. The entrepreneurs must be willing to be interviewed by media personnel when approached.
