​Will Beauty and the Beast be given the green light by Papua New Guinea’s censorship Board?

The question pops up after the Disney film has come under fire in some countries, being the first Disney film to feature a “gay” character.

Malaysia postponed its release, Russia has given a 16+ rating preventing children from seeing it and parents in a congregation in Singapore have been warned of the “homosexual content” by a bishop.

This Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson will be hitting the screens in all Pacific countries next week.

It is expected to a big movie for PNG theatres but will it be featured on the big screens?

The film, which will go under review next week, most probably will be given a PGR rating and not G, some say.

The Paradise Cinemas has already advertised this film which is expected to premier on March 23, 2017.
