Police Minister and Member for Henganofi, Robert Atiyafa, has expressed his deepest sympathy to the immediate family of late Constable Samuel Pias.
Late Constable Pisa was shot and killed in the line of duty by criminals in Alotau, Milne Bay Province.
Minister Robert Atiyafa said: “It is indeed a sad moment for the family and the Constabulary to have such a young man in the prime of his life taken away so suddenly and so brutally”.
The Minister urged the family and colleagues of the slain policeman to keep calm and allow the law to take its course. He gave his assurance that those who shot the policeman will be brought to justice.
Constable Pias, 25, from Tupiri village, Mendi, Southern Highlands Province, was shot dead by robbers in Alotau on Saturday, July 30.
