O’Neill arrives in Wewak

Prime Minister Peter O'Neill arrived in East Sepik capital, Wewak this morning accompanied by senior ministers.

Accompanying him was Finance Minister James Marape, Agriculture Minister Tommy Tomscoll, Tourism Minister Tobias Kulung, Health Minister Michael Malabag and Higher Education Minister Francis Marus.

This is PMs first official visit after his government defeated the Opposition sponsored Vote of No-Confidence motion last Friday.

The purpose of the day’s visit is to launch the K55 million Sepik chicken, grain and cocoa project within the Sepik Special Economic Zone, opening of the Yangoru water supply project, funding to Wewak General Hospital, development of new Wewak informational wharf, and others.

The Air Niugini charter plane taxied onto Boram Airport at 9:42am and welcomed by a guard of honor by 2RPPIR soldiers.

The dignitaries will have morning tea before they fly by four helicopters to Yangrou Station in the Yangoru-Saussia Electorate.

Local MPs and State Ministers Richard Maru and Jim Simatab together were on hand to receive the delegates.
