General Manager Government & Community Affairs, Ian Marru said Kumul Petroleum was happy to support sports in the country in both urban and the rural areas.

He said the sponsorship of K100,000 is the biggest support so far given to sports.

“Kumul Petroleum is happy to partner with a team that has a name that reflects the famous Hela Gas prophesy which we are associated with through the PNG LNG Project.

“We are happy to support the club that has players from all over PNG in its participation in the NSL competition,” said Marru.

Club president for Gigira, Madiu Andrew thanked Kumul Petroleum for their support.

“Their support is not only to us as a club participating in the Telikom National Soccer League competition but it also promotes football in the country and provides opportunities and pathways for our unemployed youths to be productive citizens.

“In appreciation of the sponsorship, all our club merchandises including uniforms will carry the name and logo of Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited and we will continue to be good ambassadors for the sponsor and our loyal fans,” said Andrew.

Gigira will take on Hekari United FC next month in round 6 of the TNSL competition.
