Conkarah encourages young PNG musicians

Jamaican reggae singer Conkarah encourages young Papua New Guinea musicians to make music from the heart.

Conkarah is in Port Moresby to perform tonight (Saturday 7 November) at The Cosmopolitan in Moresby to celebrate that club’s second birthday.

The 28 year old has travelled the world performing in Europe, Asia and now the Pacific Islands and has learnt the different styles of music across the globe.

“Be yourself and sing the music that you love. Don’t try and sing the music you think people want to hear.

“(that’s) Because people are going to connect with you more and believe you more if you sing from the heart and if you believe in yourself,” said Conkarah.

He adds, “Don’t try to be someone that you’re not and stay true to yourself.”
