Tuff Tumas happy to support Jamaican artist Conkarah

Tuff Tumas Music is a label collaborating with artists from Melanesian countries including Vanuatu, PNG, Solomon Islands, Fiji and New Caledonia.  Artists include Yung Yanny, Jamie Lee, Jagarizzar and Twin Tribe.

Tuff Tumas will be the official DJ for Conkarah tonight.

Tuff Tumas explained that he linked up with Conkarah two years ago when he first contacted him to do a song called Oceans Away which they will also be performing.

They also shot the video together in Cuba which was filmed by PNG film production company Torn Parachute who are based in Australia.

Conkarah encourages young PNG musicians

Conkarah is in Port Moresby to perform tonight (Saturday 7 November) at The Cosmopolitan in Moresby to celebrate that club’s second birthday.

The 28 year old has travelled the world performing in Europe, Asia and now the Pacific Islands and has learnt the different styles of music across the globe.

“Be yourself and sing the music that you love. Don’t try and sing the music you think people want to hear.

“(that’s) Because people are going to connect with you more and believe you more if you sing from the heart and if you believe in yourself,” said Conkarah.

The Climate Change office and the waste management section of the National Capital District Commission (NCDC) will be conducting a cleanup among the mangroves of Tuna Bay at Taurama outside Port Moresby.

Jamaican reggae singer Conkarah arrives for PNG concert

Conkarah will perform at The Cosmopolitan in Moresby as the club celebrates its second birthday tonight (Saturday 7 November).

The 28 year old is excited to be here and with his great Jamaican reggae accent, he told the local media that he is looking forward to experiencing  the food and culture.

“I have a fan base in PNG so it’s really good to be able to come here and perform for people who appreciate my music.

“I have toured Europe and have discovered that people on this side of the world appreciate my music more,” said Conkarah.
