Buka road sealing a dream come true

Villagers along the John Teosin Highway have described the continuous road sealing as a dream come true for them.

There have been calls for the road to be sealed since the colonial days and now the people of Buka are so happy that  the road sealing is taking place. Raibro Construction is now doing the second phase from Salasa village in the Hagogohe Constituency to Hagus in the Halia Constituency.

A village chief from Malis village in Hagogohe Constituency George Kusi told Loop PNG that villagers have whole heartedly welcomed the road sealing which they have  been dreaming of.

“We thank the National Government for funding the road sealing, we the people of Gogohe are now very fortunate that the first phase of sealing ends in our village, and the second phase starts here which is underway,” Chief Kusi said.

“We actually don’t know how to say thank you to the government now because this is what we wanted all along and we now have a sealed road,” he said.

“We can now sell our cash crops because we can easily access the market because of the road,”  Chief Kusi said.

He also said business people are now running PMV services and are not spending money anymore on spare parts.

“We fill like a missing part of our livelihood has been filled up and we fill that we are now being advanced and modernised,” the Chief said.
