Five policewomen from Western Province will proudly represent their province at the 9th Papua New Guinea Police Women Conference.

The police women conference will start on Monday May 2, and will continue until Friday May 6 in Lae, Morobe Province.

The officers are Constable Junitha Bogatiwai, Probationary Constable Lina Gigmai, Probationary Constable Grace Pumuye, Constable Maria Naur and Sergeant Stella Waramanai.

Sergeant Demas Tapea, who assisted in fundraising efforts towards his women's team to attend the conference, said he was proud to have them confirmed to attend.

“The policewomen from Western Province will be represented by five officers and they will be travelling on Sunday (May 1) via Kiunga to Lae for the 9th PNG Police Women Conference.

“The support we got from the business houses was overwhelming and through our fundraising, we raised about K16, 600 to assist the policewomen to attend the conference.

“I would like to thank the business houses and individuals in Tabubil for their kind support and contribution,” said Sergeant Tapea.
