NCC staff urged to be punctual

Staff at the National Cultural Commission and its institutions have been urged to change their attitudes towards their duties.

Acting executive director of NCC, Casper Damien, on Wednesday said their punctuality and attitude towards their duties as public servants have to change if they were to bring their organisations to another level.

“Cooperation, change of attitudes and approach towards one another at work is important. We need to be punctual at all times and show some attitude towards our work,” he said.

Damien said there has to be some kind of orderly manner, including decent dressing, presentation and changes in attitude.

He urged the officers not to come into the office with their mouths full of betelnut. There should be some kind of respect for the government office that they are occupying.

Damien said slack officers should try to pull their socks up. The incompetence of an officer would affect all other personnel because they all need each other to bring the organisation to another level.

He told the staff that they would meet more often to see if there needs to be improvements.

“It’s a first time such a meeting is held with staff since I was appointed to this position. I am sure this will motivate them to improve in their performance in the office,” he said.

The staff pledged to work together as a team to see their organisations advance.
