MoU Signed To Improve Disability Services

Under the Agreement, the Yangoru-Saussia District Development Authority will pay K100,000 to Callan Services annually to employ four full time staff to be based in each LLG in the district to provide assistance and services to the People Living With Disability population.

Under the MoA, each year the District guarantees K100,000 to continue the services, subject to satisfactory performance by Callan Services. 

Mr Maru said the disabled population of Yangoru Saussia deserve support and services just like the able population.

Wingei primary to get high school status

This was revealed by Yangoru-Saussia District Development Authority CEO, Fantson Yaninen, when opening district-funded projects at the school last week.    

Yaninen committed the DDA support to fund Wingei Primary School until it gets the junior high school status.

He also revealed that under the chairmanship of the local MP and Minister for Trade, Commerce & Industry, Richard Maru, a total of 70 classrooms had been built throughout all primary schools in the district, along with 50 staff houses.

Maru sets subsidy for rural students

 He revealed yesterday that starting on Monday potential students and guardians who are district base can start collecting application forms from their respective LLG officer.      

The scheme will continue to support each qualified recipient with K1,000 to assist pay for the student’s school fees.

Maru added that the assistance will only be given to students whose parents live in our rural communities or whose parents are public servants working in the district.
