GG urges Govt to address economic situation

When officially opening the 10th Parliament session today, the Sir Bob Dadae said these include relevant amendments to legislation in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, forestry and tourism.

He said the Government must also enable more national or landowner participation.

“There must be necessary reforms aimed at creating inclusivity and a level playing field that provides a conducive environment for small and medium-sized businesses to be established, operate and grow the economy.”

GG officially opens 10th Parliament

The opening ceremony included a 21 gun salute and a guard of honor from PNGDF soldiers.

The program started at 8am with the arrival of Speaker Job Pomat and his wife, Opposition leader Patrick Pruaitch with his wife, Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia and the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill along with his wife.

Governor General Sir Bob Dadae arrived and inspected the guard of honor before entering the chamber to officially open the 10th Parliament session.

The opening ceremony proceeded with all the MPs present.
