Sufficient evidence in toddler’s abduction case

The committal court heard today that 25-year-old Paul Stony, from Henganofi in Eastern Highlands Province, allegedly abducted the three-year-old in front of her family’s store at Four-Mile on Friday, October 7th, 2022.

The toddler was with her mother and grandmother, who were selling betelnut and cold water in front of the store.

According to the police report, her mother left her with her grandmother and went to the house to get more containers of water. She returned five minutes later to find the toddler missing.

Principal arrested over alleged sexual penetration

Lae police claim the incident occurred on the 13th of March, 2019, at about 2.30pm.

The principal, who is also a director of a private school at Papuan Compound, had abused the trust of the small girl, aged 10 years old. The girl is a relative to the suspect from his wife's side.

“The school is located next to his residence where he told the child to go to the house where he will photocopy some paper for her,” Lae police report.

“It was there that the child was allegedly abused by the principal.

Policeman dismissed after sexual penetration charge

Constable Leo Kambao was dismissed from the Force after being charged for sexual penetration.

He allegedly sexually assaulted an 18-year-old female detainee on January 10th at the station.

Police Internal Affairs Director Chief Superintendent Robert Ali said Kambao had other outstanding charges going back as far as 2013.

Policeman charged with sexual penetration of a child

NCD Metropolitan police commander Ben Turi tells PNG Loop that this case took place at about 9pm on New Years day at Tokam barracks, Waigani.

He says that the probationary constable allegedly walked to the victim’s house next to where he lives and lured her to the buai market at the barracks gate.

Reports state that the suspect after returning from the market forced the 13 year old girl into his room and forcefully penetrated her.
