PNG Music Foundation

PNG Music foundation takes off

Confirmed for March 1st, the music body is asking for corporate help to prepare for three main things this year; to travel out, to participate in APEC and to establish a proper music industry.

Samson Sala is a musician from Southern Highlands. He left former band Lerams of Kagua, and recorded two albums under his own name Samson Sala.

Sala established PNG music foundation in 2016 to push for contemporary music.

He has grown his connection globally and has been travelling to international music events with a few music groups linked to the foundation.

Foundation pushes for recognition of local music industry

One main reason being less to no support from the government.

So it is goes back to musicians working together towards the international platform.

Samson Sala from the Lerams of Kagua band is one passionate to see the industry gain proper recognition.

“Music is a sleeping giant, money making sustainable industry that needs government recognition and funding to be pushed and marketed,” he said.
