Gold Entertainment Ltd launched

Event organizers were proud to launch Gold Entertainment Limited, a new company joining the music industry to boost exposure of local music artists.

“I’m launching my company ‘The Gold Entertainment Ltd’. It focuses on being an agent for singers and organizes events for singers,” said company Director Samuel Lupo.

For the last four to five years, Lupo shared that he worked with many singers behind the scenes. It was time to step out.  He aims for 2023 to be a year of change in the music industry.

Govt challenged to boost PNG Music industry

The most recent being productions by the band Wild Pack.

Both incidents have brought negative reaction from the public towards music, generally of the up-coming artists.

But this spotlight has also given the opportunity for some artists to challenge the government to build the industry up. 

dAdiigii, a singer/song-writer has been in the entertainment business for at least 15 years now.

And from experience, he says there has been no help from the government in the area for over 42 years. 

Challenges of female musicians in PNG

A sensitive and very controversial topic when raised, yet these beliefs are only questioned when it stands in the way of development.

And in this case, the music industry.

“We’re from a society that’s so diverse and everybody has their own idea of how a woman needs to be raised,” says Nicole Jeune.

Jeune is the band manager of The Vibe – PNG’s first ever girl band.

Her comment is in reference to female musicians trying out in PNG’s male dominated music industry.

Foundation pushes for recognition of local music industry

One main reason being less to no support from the government.

So it is goes back to musicians working together towards the international platform.

Samson Sala from the Lerams of Kagua band is one passionate to see the industry gain proper recognition.

“Music is a sleeping giant, money making sustainable industry that needs government recognition and funding to be pushed and marketed,” he said.

Kiwi music producer calls for support of PNG artists

Rory produces for New Zealand-based PNG hip hop artist Trigarow.

He visited PNG for the first time with Trigarow to perform at the Lamana Gold Club in December 3, 2016.

Rory’s message comes with the support Trigarow had by friends, family and fans.

“Support your local artists because most of the time they are pushing so hard to make a good name for their hometown and home country,” he told Loop PNG via email when sharing his PNG experience.
