Mel Meninga

The Enga music night is an annual event for music artists from the province; both established and upcoming.

It was initiated in 2016 by established recording artist from Enga, Daniel Bilip.

Bilip said the idea is to show people there is something positive other than fighting and violence associated with people from his area.

He says music is one positive tool for youth.

The Enga music night is in its third year now, usually hosted in Lae and Port Moresby respectively.

Bilip confirmed the venue and date for Lae as Club Cabana on March 30.

If that is to change, rather than playing more Tests and putting greater pressure on the players it's about having a coach who will instil that pride back in the jersey – and I have no doubt Mal Meninga is the man to do just that.

When Mal took over the Queensland Origin team in 2006 we were staring down the barrel of losing four series in succession but he took a gamble by bringing a lot of new, younger faces into the squad.
