CRU heavyweights clash

The competition’s heavyweights will face each other for the first time this season at the Bava Park. The sides had a couple of encounters last season but all was in favour of Brothers and Crusaders are out to make amends.

This season, Crusaders have been performing very well in the opening three rounds and will put up stiff challenge against their opponents.

Brothers head coach, Joe Kautu praised the resurgence of the Crusaders and their performance this year, saying Brothers cannot take them lightly.

Brothers defend CRU title

They claimed victory with a massive 26 points to 14 against arch rivals and minor premiers, Credit Corp Harlequins, in front of packed Bava Park rugby stands on Saturday.

The injection of PNG Pukpuks 7’s trio, Eugene Tokavai, Arther Clement and 2-try hero Emil Latu Mahina into the Brothers outfit for Saturday’s decider added the running flair to their game. It was the difference that made it difficult for the Harlies to counter in the opening exchanges when they went about their business of setting up plays, scoring tries and kicking goals.
