The shooter was known to officers from previous arrests for minor crimes, but Forsyth County Sheriff Duane Piper would not release the man's name or details of his previous run-ins with the law. He said the victims and the shooter all lived at the house.
"We'd like to find a motive. There's no reason that any of us are ever going to understand to wipe an entire family. We have absolutely no clue at this point what precipitated it," Piper said.
