Acting education secretary Dr Uke Kombra

2016 Grade 12 national examination dates changed

“The changes were made because principals of some schools have not complied with the standard procedures used to guide students to select subject combinations,” Dr Kombra said in a statement.

“This situation has forced the Department to revise this year’s Grade 12 National Examination timetable to be conducted for two weeks when it should have taken only one week.”

Term four for schools begins today

Term Three for all schools and institutions under the National Education System ends on Friday, September 23, the one week holiday begins on Monday, September 26, and ends on Friday, September 30.

“These are the official dates contained in the 2016 Education Calendar therefore, head teachers, principals and managers are advised to observe these dates unless they have organised in-service trainings or other very important activities organised for their teachers,” Acting education secretary Dr Uke Kombra says.
