Captain of PNG Power, Isikel Tovia Jr, says yesterday’s 9-7 triumph over Yokomo was a well-deserved win for the team who had worked all season.
It’s been a tough season. We had a lot of ups and downs, but the boys continued to work hard and their determination brought us all the way,” he said.
“Yokomo was the better team this season, beating us three times. We knew what we had to do to beat them.
“The boys are really over the moon about the win and they deserve it.”
Tovia added the team has plenty of young guns that will lead PNG Power into the future.
“We’re looking forward to doing this again next season,” said Tovia.
He finished by dedicating the win to all the supporters, especially to Ben Tolimanaram who is bedridden and could not make it to yesterday’s game.
