Pom auction fetches K139, 000 for Team PNG

Despite the tough economic times, business houses still fronted up on Thursday night to help raise K139, 000 in Port Moresby to send Team PNG to next month’s Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

There was a small turnout, but President of the PNG Olympic Committee, Sir John Dawanincura said it was understandable with the current economic crisis plus with APEC preparations underway in the nation’s capital.

He was still appreciative to all the corporate bodies plus the government for their continued support to Team PNG’s endeavours.

13, 900 shirts were sold at the Royal Papua Yacht Club for 98 schools in and around Port Moresby.
