Corporate slow pitch set to start

The PMMI 5th Corporate Slow Pitch Competition is set to start on Saturday, the 9th of June.

The theme for this competition is “Hit a Homerun against HIV&AIDS”.

For every homerun hit, the Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association will donate a certain amount to support the awareness of HIV&AIDS in PNG.

According to the PMWSA competition ground rules, a team MUST have 10 players in the starting lineup for a game comprising either;

  • 5 males and 5 females, or
  • 6 males and 4 females, or
  • 4 males and 6 females.

All teams are expected to be in proper sporting attire with numbers on the back of their uniforms.

Furthermore, in the event a corporate body has two teams or more, there shall be no interchange of players between these teams, as they are considered as separate from each other.

The PMWSA says only employees of the registered corporate company teams and their spouses and defendants are ELIGIBLE to participate as players in the competition.
