Holiday extended for Kila Kila secondary

Kila Kila Secondary School’s term 2 holiday has been extended due to counting for the Moresby South electorate.

Education Secretary, Dr Uke Kombra, has announced that due to the gazettal of the secondary school as a venue for counting by the Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission, the term two holidays for this school is extended by one week only.

“The one week extension is given to allow the counting of votes at this school to be completed by 16 July, 2017,” says Dr Kombra.

Meanwhile, all the other schools in the National Capital District and throughout the country, which come under the National Education System (NES), must resume classes for Term 3 on Monday, July 10.

Classes for Kilakila Secondary School will resume for Term 3 on Monday, July 17.

“The Department regrets any inconveniences caused, but assures parents and students that the school will make arrangements to cover up for the lost instructional hours in Terms 3 and 4,” states the Secretary.

“All teachers and students in other schools under the NES in all the provinces are reminded to prepare for the start of Term 3 on Monday, July 10.”
