First ever service for mining ministry

The Ministry of Mining for the first time held a dedication service this morning in Port Moresby for its staff.

The dedication service was attended by all staff of the Mineral Resources Authority and the Chamber of Mines and Petroleum.

During the event, Mining Minister Johnson Tuke urged them to serve Papua New Guineans diligently every day.

“We must serve our people diligently and be faithful in what we do,” he said.

“Regardless of what position you take in the company, we all must work together and focus on our main visions and goals.”

He said after today’s service, staff must continue to live by the service theme ‘Live to Serve’ to ensure their work is done in the best interest of the people they serve.

Secretary for the Department of Mining Petroleum and Geohazard Management, Harry Kore, shared similar sentiments.

He called on staff to work together to achieve their goals within the industry.

“We must all work together as a team and move the department to the next level.”
