Seven hundred chief executive officers will be attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in November in Port Moresby.
Of the total, 200 CEOs will be from PNG while the rest will be from around the 21 APEC economies.
The APEC CEO Summit will see leaders from the 21 economies meet and discuss important agendas under the theme of the 2018 APEC Summit, which is: “Harnessing Inclusive Opportunities, Embracing the Digital Future”.
Chairman of PNG APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Secretariat, Wayne Golding, said the APEC Authority will be making the selection of the local and international CEOs who will be attending the Summit.
Golding also confirmed that the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, has already confirmed his attendance for the Summit.
The other leaders who will also be coming include US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and others.
About 100 meetings will be conducted leading up to the main CEO Summit in November.
So far the country has been preparing and is confident to host a successful APEC Summit.
This will also be the first in history for PNG to host such a big event after joining as a member in 1993.
