How about making a difference this Christmas?

Better late than nothing at all.

You can make this Christmas special by giving a little diversion to your usual routine.

It doesn’t have to be a Christmas to remember because of water issues, bus strikes, hike in petty crimes, deaths and more deaths. How about making a difference where you are.

How can you change this Christmas for yourself and the person next to you?

Take ownership to clean your neighbourhood:

Betelnut spittle, graffiti, drinking bottles, plastic, food-wrappers all add to the ugly look of the area. Still nobody cares.

Take time to organise a group to clean your neighbourhood. Bring the community together, brighten the spirit.

The evicted

You don’t know how it feels to be forced out of what you called home for the past number of years.  A number of evictions were reported this year. While humans can adapt, the psychological effect may remain for a while. Apart from a home, they will need an understanding heart. Show you care. Give them something to remember you by, this Christmas.

 Asylum seekers

In our eyes, they are foreigners. But they are just people fleeing from hell to freedom. A Christmas away from home and family is not a Christmas at all. Be the family they need. Spread the Christmas love.

Street Children/ Homeless person

They line the streets and may get on your nerve every morning, but just one special deed this Christmas may go a long way. Bring one child to join you at the table, or give a blanket, a hot soup, a cake. Who knows, this may be repaid when you least expect it. Be his or her Santa today.

Orphanage/ Foundations

There are many in the country who operate on charity basis. It doesn’t have to be cash and kind always. Volunteer your help and don’t expect something in return. Your help may mean a lot, not only to the child but to those who operate it.

Lonely person

Your presence and good food. A happy act of love does good like medicine. Give him/her a happy Christmas.
