May 6: Great and groovy events to rock Port Moresby

May 6 will be a full day for those in Port Moresby.

If you live in the big city or are just visiting, here is a heads up of what you should be expecting.

The Bridal Show Port Moresby 2017

Here’s one show that will provide all options or direct you onto the path to that perfect wedding you want to have or planning for someone else.

The Bridal Show in Port Moresby, is on Saturday 6th May 2017, 11am - 4pm, at the Grand Papua Hotel.

The show brings together local and international exhibitors showcasing their products and services into PNG’s wedding industry.

Beginners Workshop on Fashion Design- By LEPOU

Are you a fashion enthusiast? This is what you’ve been waiting for.

PNG Fashion and Design week organised a two-day workshop on Fashion Design which runs through May 5 – 6 at Lamana Hotel.

The guest designer is Fayee Peni-Lepou.

Fayee led a team of  five designers who created garments for the TE VAKA to wear at the Red & Blue carpet premier of the animated movie MOANA in US in 2016.

This is the chance to learn something that will influence your contribution to PNG’s fashion industry.

World Supermodel PNG 2017

Witness this inaugural event!

PNG will crown two representatives to go onto the international platform to compete with models from other countries for the World Supermodel 2017 crown.

This will take place at the Lamana hotel, from 6 PM to 9 PM.

A total of 11 models will walk the Runway.

POM Metal Fest

Another historical moment for PNG, Port Moresby, the music scene but particularly, metal fanatics.

This will be a night dedicated to pure heavy metal music, a first of such.

Seven local bands taking on the stage in this event, organised by a local company Tritones Music Promoters.

The long wait finally over now.

This event goes down at Sports Inn, from 9pm – 12pm.

Grand Final Heineken Live Your Music Dj Contest 2017

A competition that started with the idea to cultivate the Disk Jockeying industry in Port Moresby.

At The Party Capital - The Gold Club in partnership with PNG’s SP Brewery, the competition will see its final lag of this year.

Also to perform is Guest International DJ G-Wizard at the final battle between 4 Finalists DJs in each division: Top Rising Star DJ division (A grade) and Top Rookie DJ division (B grade).

Sheppard Concert

​Queensland based band, the Sheppard will blow the crowd away at the Cosmopolitan.

The Sheppard band is no stranger to PNG. Siblings who started the band technically grew their wings in PNG before flying out onto the world stage, sitting on international charts.

The band arrives in the country today for one night of Bombs Away and other recent hits.
