PNG’s top models take on the world!

All we can do now is watch as two of PNG’s top models take on the World Supermodel pageant.

The 10th World Supermodel Production kicked off on Sunday, seeing 40 models from around the world fly into Macau.

From PNG, Sheilla Yama and Glendah Sanadah arrived in Macau on May 20th, with National Director Philma Kelegai.

In a statement, World Supermodel PNG said: “Day one saw a meet and greet with all stunning finalists and the crew of World Supermodel Production.

“This was followed immediately by a glamour shoot, the first being an underwater shoot and a shoot at the Macau Tower. These are two of the many different concept shoots that the girls will have to go through.

“They will be judged every single day on their performances in these shoots, as well as their personalities and their behaviour.”

The pageant runs through to Saturday, May 28. Mid-week now, Sheilla Yama, World Supermodel PNG, says she is confident and excited and looks forward to a great week.
Loop PNG reached out to Glendah Sanadah via Messenger and here’s what she said: “My focus now is on learning new things and meeting new people and making my country proud.

“I want to better myself so I can be a better Papua New Guinean and a positive contributor to the nation.

“And I’m focused on winning right now so that’s what I aim to take up with fun,” she said.

As part of the competition, this year the World Supermodel Production, through the International Fashion Week, will showcase leading designers’ latest fashion from around the world.

With up to 40 models attending from over 26 countries, there will be multiple designs gracing the catwalk over this 4-day fashion week extravaganza.

Contestants will be judged on their walk.
