Wobiro’s submission on sentence end of this month

Submissions of the appropriate sentence the court should impose on Western Governor Ati Wobiro and his co-conspirators will be done at the end of this month.

Governor Wobiro, Provincial Administrator Dr Modowa Gumoi, and boss of Fly Care Foundation Inc. Norman Carl May, were all allowed bail at K10, 000 each on Thursday afternoon after they showed exceptional circumstance before the court on their medical grounds.

This bail was allowed after they were found guilty on July 26. The court is yet to hand down its sentencing on the three.

They are expected back in court during the last week of August when Justice Martin Ipang returns to Port Moresby for Supreme Court case sitting.

Justice Ipang is the judge who found them guilty of conspiring and misappropriating funds on July 26. They have to return before him for submissions on sentence before the actual sentencing. He is based in Hela.

The three are expected to report to the Waigani National Court registry every first Monday of the month. This is part of their bail conditions. They are also expected to maintain peace while on bail.
