Hebou PNG Barramundis’ all-rounder, Assad Vala, and opening bowler, Willie Gavera, finished in the top three vote getters at the 2016 South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) Premier League awards.
Luke Robins from the Northern Territory Strike won the Most Outstanding Player of the Year Award on 18 votes, just ahead of Vala, who polled 13 votes.
Harry Nielsen (Mavericks), Daniel Drew (Western Grit) and Gavera were tied for third on 11 votes each.
Vala was the second leading run scorer in the 2016 SACA Premier League, scoring 335 runs, averaging 55.83 runs.
He scored two half centuries and an unbeaten 113.
Ben Wakim from the Northern Territory Strike was the leading run scorer, making 354 runs at an average of 70.80.
Gavera was the second leading wicket taker in the 2016 SACA Premier League, taking 15 wickets at an average of 12.40.
Robins was the leading wicket taker, taking 18 wickets at an average of 16.39.
Throughout the one-month competition, coaches of the six sides submitted votes for the Most Outstanding Player Award.
Previous winners of this award include Travis Head and Callum Ferguson, who have both gone on to represent Australia.
The Barras finished their 2016 SACA Premier League in third place on 34 points with four wins, three draws and one loss.
Northern Territory Strike won the competition on 40 points, while Western Grit finished second on 36 points.
The Barras are currently in Hong Kong for the One Day International (ODI) Series which starts tomorrow.
