Tari comes to a standstill for Agiru

Business houses and schools have closed for the day as thousands gathered in Tari to welcome the late Hela governor Anderson Pawa Agiru into the province.

People gathered as early as 6am and are waiting patiently for late Agiru's arrival.

Security has been very tight as commotion might arise within the people.

The body of the late governor is currently in Mendi.

The body was accompanied by Prime Minister Peter O'Neill and other government ministers.

Police and Defence Force officers have been dispatched to Tari to control the crowd.

All business  houses have closed in Mendi as mark of respect of the late leader.
