Schools Kriket program a success in NCD

The annual BSP School Kriket Programme - BSP Blast Carnival - in partnership with Cricket PNG (CPNG) which started recently has drawn many young talented children into developing cricket skills.

Once again, for this terms’ break, the carnival will see more than 300 students  participating in the successful hard ball cricket competition with students learning basic cricket techniques and skills.

Students from Sevese Morea Primary, Taurama Primary and St. Theresa’s Primary in the National Capital District (NCD) will be competing in the girls’ and boys’ under 13s and under 15s competition.

CPNG Regional Cricket Manager for NCD Region, Lista Oala commented on the successful cricket development program saying: “It has been exciting and challenging to see children, especially the students and teachers who took part in the NCD BSP School Kriket Blast competition.

“Student participation has increased and we are delighted to see children showing interest in cricket. Thank to cricket PNG and sponsor Bank of South Pacific (BSP) for their ongoing support in allowing Cricket PNG to foster the development of cricket programmes in schools around the Nation’s capital.”

The BSP Blast Carnival is part of the ICC Global Award Winning Program - BSP School Kriket Programme.

This program has reached 11,366 participants across seven (7) Elementary/Primary Schools across NCD in term the term 1 carnival  and it is hoped to make a blast for children’s participation all over the country.
