Disaster continues to hit Oro again

In a span of three months, Girua temporary bridge used as a wet crossing has been damaged by flooding for the second time.

Northern Province Governor Gary Juffa said the wet crossing at Girua was washed away following flooding last night.

“Contractors on the ground are working to restore the crossing.

“The Embogo High school was also flooded and there were instances of looting but Police and school administration had taken control of that and I have been given a report on that.

“I am waiting for a complete report from the Provincial Disaster Unit to give me complete report so I may deliver to the office of the Deputy Prime Minister (Leo Dion), the Prime Minister (Peter O’Neill) and Minister Finance (James Marape) to seek assistance,” Juffa said.
