BSP ATM machines in Honiara back for customers

BSP ATM machines in Honiara resumed being usable on Sunday afternoon after the system had been down since Friday.

Solomon Islands customers of PNG owned Bank South Pacific in Honiara were disappointed at the weekend because they could not withdraw money from the ATMs and access other services via their mobile phones.

Speaking to PNG LOOP last Friday in Solomon’s capital Honiara, many BSP customers  their voiced disappointment over the system being down, hence they had to borrow money elsewhere to sustain them until they can access the services.

Meanwhile in an exclusive interview with LOOP the country manager of BSP David Anderson explained how two satellite links were down and affected the ATMs as well.

“We apologise  to our customers in Solomon Islands but we committed to rectify the problem now that the system resumes to normalcy,” Anderson said.

He says  BSP in Honiara have liaised with its technicians to monitor the two satellite links to ensure such problem was not repeated.

Yesterday afternoon all the ATMs were back in action fully.
